Chino Hills, San Bernardino County
Chino Hills incorporated in 1991, after two decades in which planners clustered homes on the gentler slopes and left the ridgelines open. One of its landmarks is the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a Hindu temple completed in 2012, whose exterior of pink sandstone was carved by hand in India and assembled on a hilltop beside the 71 freeway.
